Gray Stone, Camel Coat
Mara is drawn wearing these pieces — an illustration, styled as the items shown, not a photograph of them.
Model: Mara — landscape architect, Zürich
Why it works
The palette follows the city: camel for warmth against the gray stone, cream at the neck to lift the face, and charcoal and black below to sit with the wet setts and closes. There is no accent color, so the coat's clean camel expanse is the only statement.
The proportions are long and even. A floor-skimming architectural coat falls over wide-leg trousers in one unbroken vertical line, and the oversized mock-neck fills the neckline so the coat can hang open without a gap. Textures move from smooth wool to soft knit to worsted trousers to polished leather, each one a little different from the last.
For Mara it is the ten-year coat in practice: few elements, good materials, room to walk the Royal Mile's slopes and closes. The chunky soles handle cobbles and steps, and the scarf and gloves come out when the wind comes off the Forth.

How it goes together
An Edinburgh old-town afternoon where one long camel coat does all the work over a quiet cream-and-charcoal base, grounded by black chunky loafers.
