Why it works
The palette is navy, white and camel, nothing more. The navy coat and the navy stripe form a single dark column, the white in the stripe brings light up to the face, and the camel scarf and tan loafers bracket the figure in warm neutrals. It is restrained, but it is not wall-colored: the stripe gives it rhythm and the scarf adds warmth exactly where the eye lands.
The proportions are compact on top and long below. The double-breasted coat sits wide at the shoulder, the slim dark jeans run clean to the loafer, and the scarf, knotted loose rather than wrapped tight, breaks the coat's lapel line. The textures shift from dense wool to soft knit cotton, smooth denim and polished leather, so the look has depth up close.
For an autumn weekend walk along the canal, this is Paris without costume: every piece belongs to the city's own vocabulary. For Julien it is tailoring worn loosely, with the coat left open and the scarf doing the structural work he believes in.

How it goes together
A Parisian classic worn by someone who hangs pictures for a living: navy peacoat, Breton stripe, dark denim and tan loafers, held together by a loosely knotted camel scarf.
