We4r makes illustrated lookbooks: each look is put together piece by piece, then drawn.

Black Coffee, Black Pint
Oliver is drawn wearing these pieces — an illustration, styled as the items shown, not a photograph of them.
Model: Oliver — non-fiction editor at an independent publisher, London
Why it works
The palette is one color said four ways. Black cotton-blend jersey, black leather, washed black denim and polished black leather each catch the low pub light differently, so the look reads as texture rather than as a flat silhouette. The faded edge of the jeans keeps the column from turning severe, and nothing breaks the line.
The proportions stay narrow from neck to ankle. The mock-neck closes the collar so the moto's lapels have a clean frame. The jacket stops at the hip, the skinny jeans run straight into the boots, and the chunky soles give the narrow leg somewhere to land. It is smart enough for a cocktail basement and tough enough for a sticky floor and a night bus home.
For Oliver, this is an edit, not a costume. It is four pieces, each earning its place, and each one he already wears on ordinary weekdays. The leather jacket supplies the evening's only bit of swagger, and everything else stays quiet around it.

How it goes together
A tight, all-dark line of slim mock-neck, leather moto, washed black skinnies and chunky chelsea boots, built to move from the first pub to the last basement bar without a single wasted piece.
